We agreed this week that the pieces of the jigsaw are well and truly falling in to place!!
This week’s highlights:
Lord Nash (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Schools)
has written to us confirming that the secretary of state is entering into a Funding Agreement with Mosaic Jewish Primary School – Yes, we are now a school!
‘Readiness to Open’ meeting at the Department for Education.
Headteacher Kate and Chair of Governors Shirley met with officials from the DfE on 6th June for a final formal meeting. There was a presentation by Kate followed by rigorous, detailed questions on a the key aspects of the school to both Kate and Shirley. The meeting was to judge where MJPS is in terms of readiness to open. Every aspect was confirmed as absolutely ready to go! DfE were fulsome in their praise on summing up. We left with big smiles on our faces. Plans are well in place, lots of children are joining us in September, the staff team is almost complete, furniture is arriving. All the hard work is bearing fruits!
There was a site visit to the permanent site on Tuesday and we took some more photos of the outdoor space, which we hope to share with you very soon. It is just great and once the design team has been set up they will have lots of ideas about to develop an area for your children to really enjoy. Public access is not possible to the site at present as there will be residents living there for the next few months.
Those of you who have asked us about transport to the permanent site should rest assured that an integral part of the plans for the building will be a carefully thought through travel plan. We will keep you informed when we know more.
Work will be starting at the temporary schools site within days.
The accommodation is already really good – as many of you know – but there are some modifications to be made, technology to install, decorating to be done, storage to be fitted……
Best wishes MJPS
