Temporary accommodation site announced

There is an understanding in principle that the SLJPS will be located temporarily at Wimbledon and District Synagogue. This is subject to the signing of the DfE Funding Agreement (which gives the final stage approval for the school once a permanent site has been found and formally consulted on), and mutual agreement with Wimbledon and District Synagogue of the technical requirements and legal documentation.

SLJPS is a community initiative and we are fortunate that there is a community building which has capacity to provide the Trust with very good temporary accommodation. The school is not affiliated to any synagogue or stream of Judaism but will be an inclusive primary school with 50% Faith places and 50% open places. The area available for the use of the School will be the first floor classrooms and the rear ground floor play area and there will be a secure entrance from Queensmere Road to the School’s own entry door. The modern classrooms and educational facilities in the building will be ideal for the start of the SLJPS in September 2013 with a first year Reception Class.

We are undertaking a detailed property search, and are having discussions with a number of landowners to secure a permanent site for the school. We will therefore not be able to confirm the location of the permanent site until these discussions have been completed and an agreement has been reached.
