Dear Parents/ Carers,
As Chair of Governors I have great pleasure in writing to you regarding the school’s Ofsted report. The judgement of ‘Outstanding’ for all areas of the school is richly deserved by Mrs Baum and her excellent team.
‘The headteacher’s clear leadership, along with that of the governing board, has ensured that this recently opened free school has firmly established its aim to ‘inspire, respect, excel’ at the heart of its work.’ Ofsted 2015
This outcome is a wonderful testament to everyone involved with MJPS since the proposal for setting up the school was submitted to the DfE in February 2012. Under Mrs Baum’s dynamic leadership the school has embraced all the challenges of setting up a new school. She is driven by the determination to provide the very best possible teaching and learning opportunities for all the pupils without ever losing sight of the caring, inclusive and supportive ethos of MJPS.
‘Leaders and governors have been successful in establishing a school community in which pupils of different faiths and cultures embrace their differences.’ Ofsted 2015
We are thrilled that the inspector clearly recognised the tireless hard work, commitment, dedication and diligent professionalism that occurs every day across our school. Your children too impressed the inspector, as they do us, with their thirst for learning and their developing maturity.
‘Teachers have very high expectations of what pupils can achieve. Classroom environments and lessons stimulate and enthuse pupils, inspiring them to learn’.
‘Achievement is outstanding with a high proportion of pupils making more than the expected progress. Standards in reading, writing and mathematics are well above those seen nationally.’ Ofsted 2015
The inspection was extremely rigorous and the inspector examined thoroughly every aspect of the provision. He was completely focused in his pursuit of evidence for all of the inspection areas, leadership and management, behaviour and safety of children, quality of teaching, achievement of pupils and the early years provision.
We would like to thank parents and carers for the high number of responses to the Ofsted Parent View Questionnaire. We were delighted with the overwhelmingly positive responses.
‘Parents express a very high level of satisfaction with the work of the school. This is as a result of the close relationships established between home and school.’ Ofsted 2015
The ‘outstanding’ judgement will not bring a hint of complacency as we continue to strive for ongoing improvement and settle in to our new school. There are detailed and exciting development plans in place and we look forward to sharing this journey with you all.
