Half term already

Dear Interested Parent

We are sure for those of you with children in school / nursery you will find it hard to believe that it is half term already. The team at SLJPS is getting particularly excited when we think about our first class breaking up for their first ‘school holiday’ this time next year.

We have been as busy as ever and thought you might like a small summary of recent activity from the ‘first half of term’!

Appointed Kate Baum as our head teacher designate. The feedback and support that Kate has received from numerous individuals and organisations is wonderful – Thank you
Regular updates on the website as we translate the original DfE application (400+ pages) into real planning for opening the school – including admissions, curriculum, faith Q&As and regular responses to your specific queries via the web-site
Coffee mornings for interested parents (we have a few dates planned for Nov and Dec so please drop us a line if you are interested in attending)
Meet the head teacher designate event on 15th Nov – please register at http://sljps.org.uk/rsvp/ (those who have registered will receive venue details within the next two weeks)
We are also working hard behind the scenes on areas such as the school’s name and logo, policies for SEN & staffing (to name a few!), IT requirements and the general and religious studies curriculum

We are aware that many of you are making visits to local schools to get an idea for where your children might be going next year. We are sorry that like many new free schools we haven’t got a building for you to visit yet, but we hope that the range of opportunities to meet and talk about the school with the team who are planning and building it is sufficient to answer all the questions that you have and for you to understand the vision for your school.

Just to remind you that you are receiving this email because you registered your interest in the school. Please can you reply to this email, if you haven’t done so already and confirm the following:
1.     You are still interested in enrolling your child
2.     The name of your child (or children) born AFTER 31/08/2008 and birth-date
3.     Areas of expertise you can offer (optional)
