Our school strives for academic excellence through a balanced curriculum of strong general coursework based on the national curriculum and a comprehensive Jewish studies programme. The introduction of Hebrew emphasizes the connection to Jewish history and culture.
Our interdisciplinary approach highlights experiential learning across all subjects and helps students develop critical thinking, logical reasoning, creativity and strong writing skills.
We are working to develop a creative curriculum in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and National Curriculum. We will teach within a caring and nurturing environment which develops the potential of all children, building their self esteem and confidence to enable then to develop the skills to think and learn effectively. We will emphasis learning through cross-curricular links and real experiences. We appreciate that children learn by doing and being able to take an active part in their learning which will enable them to build effectively on their interests and previous experiences.
We recognise the importance of preparing children for a life in an ever changing world and so the need for them to develop the skills to become independent and thoughtful learners who are able to find and evaluate information for themselves. We will help prepare children to live active and purpose lives as adults.
Our ethos is summed up in the ancient Jewish hope: “May our children be our builders” and is based on the following three aspirations:
To inspire children to create their best possible journeys in life, with confidence in their own cultures, heritage and beliefs
To develop self-respect and expand it within and across the Jewish community, British society and the wider world
To enable children to reach their full potential, emotionally, socially, academically and spiritually
In addition, we envision the school as inclusive, welcoming children of all backgrounds on a non-selective basis. We aspire to create a strong sense of community in the school’s life and to pursue excellence in delivering a primary education.
