COVID-19

As ever, the health and safety of our children and staff remain our top priority. Please be aware that this is a rapidly changing situation and that whilst the displayed information is accurate at the time of posting we would recommend that parents monitor the situation by checking the official websites regularly for any updates and changes.

Department for Education (DfE) Coronavirus helpline

The Department for Education has launched a new helpline to answer questions about COVID-19 related to education. Staff, parents and young people can contact the helpline as follows:

Phone: 0800 046 8687
Email: DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk
Opening hours: 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday)

The advice from the Department for Education is still that no school should close in response to a suspected (or confirmed) COVID-19 case unless directed to do so by Public Health England.

The importance of hygiene

Personal hygiene is the most important way we can tackle COVID-19. Staff tell the children to wash their hands every day and soap / hand sanitiser gel is available in all classrooms. We reinforce the importance of sneezing into a tissue / our elbows to catch our sneezes and avoid touching our eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands. Please help us in sharing simple and effective hygiene messages at home. Sanitiser is given to all visitors at reception before entry to the school. The school is cleaned on a daily basis.
