How can I guarantee a place for my child?
There is no way to guarantee a place in a state funded school. However there are some things that you can do to help improve your position during allocation and if you refer to the Wandsworth Applying for School Places brochure there is information which may clarify this.
eg “List the schools in the order you prefer them. If your child can be allocated a place at more than one school, the council will use this information to offer whichever of these you most prefer. The order cannot be changed later.”
What is the timetable for applications and allocations?
The timetable for applications and allocations for this year are as follows:
15th Jan 2019 – closing date for the receipt of application forms by the council and supplementary information forms by the school.
16th April 2019 – outcome letters are posted to all applicants by their local authority. If you apply online, you will be emailed the outcome of your application on the evening of 16 April 2019.
Do you have a waiting list?
Where in any year the School receives more applications for places than there are places available a waiting list is maintained by Wandsworth until the end of August in the year of admission. Any offer of places from the waiting list is in strict order of the oversubscription criteria.
If we do not get a place will I be able to appeal?
Parents who wish to appeal an admission decision with respect to their child have a right to appeal. The Governing Body has an Independent Appeal Panel and appeals should be made to the Governing Body at firstname.lastname@example.org. We fully comply with the procedures and practices of the Local Authority in which the school is located.
