Oversubscription

What happens if there are more than 30 children who apply under the Jewish faith criteria?

If there are more applications than places within any faith-based place or open place category, the order of priority where there is oversubscription is as follows:

After the admission of children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs which names the school, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:

1. Children looked after and those who ceased to be children looked after because they were adopted, or because they became subject to a residence order or a special guardianship order;

2. Children with a professionally supported exceptional medical or social need for a place at the school as decided by the Governing Body;

3. Brothers and sisters of children on the roll of the school on the date of admission (for a definition of siblings, please refer to note 1 of Admissions Criteria on the website);

4. Children in order of straight line distance from home to school as measured by Wandsworth Council’s Geographical Information System. Additional notes regarding this policy can be found on the admissions policy page.

Who should I ask to sign my compliance with faith criteria evidence
 form?

It depends under which criteria you are submitting evidence. Each
communal organisation eg synagogue, charity or youth movement will have authorised a person or people to sign your form. The Headteacher of a Jewish preschool or Religion school will be able to sign forms. Evidence of participation in private or family festival celebrations must be signed by a responsible non-family member.
